New European Regulation on Air Operations (only related to Commercial Air Transportation)

The European Commission has taken the initiative to review the regulatory scheme related to the air operations. The Commission has published the Opinions 4/2011, 01/2012 and 02/2012 on “Air Operations-OPS”.

 

In these new proposals, the Commission reviews the current regulation and proposes a new regulatory structure with the following scheme:

  • Air Operations-OPS.

  • Cover Regulation on Air Operations.

  • Annex I: Definitions.

  • Annex II: Part ARO (Authority requiremenbts).

  • Annex III: Part ORO (Organization requirements).

  • Annex IV: Part CAT (Commercial air transport requirements).

  • Annex V: Part SPA (Specific approval requirements).

 

While this new regulation has not yet been adopted at Community level, is expected to be published in mid-2012; that is why SENASA has decided to develop a course on this subject and with the draft texts available so far, in order to inform the Spain´s aviation sector this new approach regulatory on air operations.

 

SENASA has decided to design two courses: one dedicated to cover all the activities of commercial air transport, which will be studied: New Regulation, and Annexes I, II, III, IV and V), and another one to cover the remaining activities, which explore: Regulation and Annexes I, II, III, VI, VII and VIII), giving a concrete response to the training needs of each of the affected aviation industry.

Addressed to:

  • Mainly to accountable managers/postholders of operations in flight, training, quality, planning, cargo and security of commercial air transportation operators and in general

  • All personnel who, by their responsibilities or functions, need to know the new text of EU Community on Air Operations.
