Air Navigation has consolidated as a strategic development area for SENASA since, in addition to assisting AENA and the Spanish GDCA, it takes part in international projects as regards training, R&D and consultancy.

 
 

 Most of its activity is developed for the Spanish Supervising National Authority (Autoridad Nacional de Supervisión), oversees the Spanish air navigation facilities both technically and operationally. 

                                     
 
 

 

 Noteworthy Projects 

 

 

  • Certification of Group EAD (European AIS Database) as a supplier of services AIS under Regulation (EC) 2096/2005.

  • Study on the reorganization of the Airport and Air Navigation Systems General Section.

  

 

 

International Projects 

The European Union’s 6th Framework Programme for R&D (6th FP)

 

 • SUPERHIGHWAY (6th FP). Innovative management of air traffic flow by simplifying the main route networks in Europe. SENASA takes part providing the means and personnel necessary to carry out real-time ATC simulations.

  • OPTIMAL (6th FP). Definition of new instrumental procedures for aircraft and helicopter approach and landing phases. SENASA takes part providing the means and personnel necessary to carry out real-time simulations of instrumental procedures.

      •   RESET (6th FP). Identification and proposal of reductions in minimum vertical distance or SM (separation minima) in the European air traffic control. SENASA takes part analysing benchmarking and the human factor and safety assessment methodologies.
