Madrid, November 23rd 2020
SENASA has proceeded, on the morning of November 23, to formalize the donation of the aircraft with registration EC-BUO to the State Representative Platform of People with Physical Disabilities (PREDIF) so that it can continue with the work of promotion of gliding among people with physical disabilities.
The signing of the agreement between the President of SENASA, Andrés Arranz Stancel, and the President of PREDIF, Francisco José Sardón Peláez, is the culmination of a collaboration that has been developing for almost twenty years, when SENASA adapted the glider and allowed the the Platform to use it. The adaptation has also recently been completed with the incorporation of a brake in the control lever, to make it easier for the person piloting the aircraft not to have to release said lever.
Since then, 1982 flights have been enjoyed by people with disabilities at the Ocaña aerodrome facilities, where SENASA maintained the activity of sport gliding until the end of 2019.
In the last 20 years, SENASA has collaborated in different initiatives with various associations in which promotion activities were made for people with physical disabilities and made the necessary training available to this group of people, to enable them to pilot this type of aircraft, which they could not fly if it did not have the adapted version.
From now on, as agreed, at least 75% of the activity of the glider will be used to promote gliding among people with physical disabilities.
This donation is part of the commitment made by the organization in particular, and the entire Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda in general, with the Sustainable Development Goals developed by the United Nations in 2015.
