Since the end of 2013, SENASA provides basic and advanced courses on issues of training for pilots of remotely piloted aircraft systems (RPAS), as it has the E-ATO-242 certification approved based on EASA FCL, that regulates the pilot training at European level and that empowers SENASA to deliver regulated training to these pilots.
All our official courses have been developed according to the requirements set forth by the Royal Decree Law 1036/2017 of 15 December, which establishes the qualification requirements for the operation of RPAS.
Basic and Advanced is a course oriented to the training on the basic aviation knowledge that a remotely piloted aircraft pilot or operator should have for the performance of their functions.
Since March 2015 SENASA, in collaboration with RPAS manufacturers, integrators and operators is offering an Specific Pilot Drones Practical Course, theoretical-practical training necessary to obtain the specific certification of the RPAS models detailed bellow:
Additionally, SENASA also has the Radio-Telephony Operator Course for RPAS, to respond to the new requirement established in Royal Decree 1036/2017, whereby RPAS pilots who intend to perform specialized air operations in controlled airspace, must provide of the necessary knowledge to obtain the radio-telephony qualification.
With the completion of these courses, according to the current Law, the RPAS pilot would be completely trained and certified for the performance of their functions. The only additional requirements is to obtain the corresponding Aeronautical Medical Certificate prior to the course and that the Operator for which the pilot was going to work for, had submitted the documentation required by the mentioned Law.
