Ocaña aerodrome has a cadastral surface area of 379,266 square metres, 74,249 of which are built-up (2.5 %), with a 5 % of development potential. It has two crossed runways of 1,280 and 700 metres each, the first of which is partially paved (the central 20 metres), and an aircraft parking apron of 23,400 square metres. The infrastructure is designed for the operation of aircraft with a size and wingspan between 15 and 24 metres. The airspace in which the aerodrome is located is classified as delta (D-52), which gives it favourable conditions for general and sport aviation activity.
The aerodrome, which is restricted to public, uncontrolled use, can be used for activities related to the aeronautical sector and innovation, such as general and sports aviation, gliding, UAS (drones), aerial work, construction and manufacture of aeronautical material and R&D projects in mobility or energy efficiency. It is also a suitable facility for filming and audiovisual production of commercials and films or for holding events, as well as a logistics, real estate or leisure centre due to its proximity to Madrid.
60 kilometres away from Madrid
The aeronautical infrastructure, just 60 kilometres from Madrid - with direct access from the A-4 motorway - has two hangars of 1,600 square metres each, with a main hall, office and toilets. There is also a two-storey hangar of 1,871 square metres: a ground floor for aircraft maintenance, workshops, warehouses and changing rooms, and an upper floor with training rooms and offices.
It also has a 380 square metre auxiliary hangar, a 400 square metre workshop, a 300 square metre hangar, a warehouse and transformation centres. It also has an access road and a paved parking area.
The facilities include a 3,419 square metre building, accessed by a tarmac road, with three floors and 43 rooms, classrooms, offices, a bar and restaurant, as well as a 3,000 square metre recreation area with a swimming pool, children's playground and gardens.
