The XVI Promotion of Tower, Approach and Area Air Traffic Control course, made up of 19 male and six female students, concludes their initial training and graduates in SENASA. After having successfully passed all the phases of their initial training, which lasted almost a year, the controller students have obtained diplomas accrediting their Tower, Approach and Area control ratings (ADV, ADI, APP, APS, ACP and ACS). This will allow them to join the following unit training in the different air control units distributed throughout the Spanish territory.
During the closing ceremony of this XVI promotion of air control course, chaired by Andrés Arranz, president of SENASA, the students received their diplomas from relatives and close people who have shown their support over the months they were exhaustively trained at the SENASA Air Control Training Center in Madrid.
The closing ceremony of the course and this graduation celebration took place in a hybrid format, face-to-face and online, with a large group of attendees at the SENASA headquarters, including representatives of institutions such as ENAIRE, USCA and APROCTA. From SENASA's board of directors, its president, Andrés Arranz Stancel, has highlighted the excellent preparation of these new student controllers to face the future challenges of the sky and aviation, as well as the key role of controllers highlighting the human factor for the aviation safety.
In addition to the institutional representatives, the graduates have been accompanied by the team of instructors who delivered the initial training in air control during the course, members of SENASA Air Control School, the school administration team, as well as the relatives and guests of the graduates themselves.
SENASA air control school has become a national and international benchmark. More than 3,500 students from all over the world have attended its classes since it began this activity in 1995. SENASA offers replica simulators and SACTA equipment and software in its facilities, in accordance with the community requirements included in European Regulation 340/ 2015.
