The Civil Aviation Authority of Cape Verde renews SENASA's certification as an Approved Training Organisation (ATO) according to CV-CAR 3 requirements.
This certification allows SENASA to act as an approved centre for initial training in Air Traffic Control, which includes both basic training and air traffic control ratings for Tower (visual and instrument), En-route and Approach (procedural and surveillance). With this certification SENASA is also authorised to train air traffic control instructors and consultants for the Cape Verde aeronautical authority.
SENASA has a wide national and international experience in training and consultancy and has previously developed training programmes for Cape Verde aeronautical authority. As a result of the collaboration agreement between the Fund for the Promotion of Training and Employment (FPEF) of Cape Verde and the Spanish aeronautical public company, in 2022 SENASA's School of Air Traffic Control trained students controllers who achieved their Air Control Tower Ratings (ADI/ADV) with the aim of completing their professional programme in the different units of the Cape Verdean Air Navigation service provider (ASA Aeropuertos y Segurança Aerea).
In addition to this international certification, SENASA is certified by the Spanish Aviation Safety and Security Agency (AESA) as an ATC training centre for Tower, En-route and Approach Ratings, in accordance with European and national regulations (Reg. 340/2015), and it also holds ICAO Full Member TRAINAIR PLUS recognition. SENASA's ATC training centre is a national and international reference, having trained more than 3500 national and international air traffic controllers since 1995. To do so, it has a team of highly qualified instructors and experts and facilities to teach the courses in replica simulators, equipped with systems and software (SACTA) which follows the European requirements included in the European Regulation 340/2015.
