SENASA LEADS AN AIRSPACE RENOVATION PROJECT FOR ANGOLA

As a result of the agreement signed with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), SENASA launches an ambitious project to modernize the air traffic control system for Angola. SENASA leads this project in which other cutting-edge companies of the Spanish aeronautical sector alongside participate: ALG (from INDRA group), EAD and La Isla.

Under this contract, signed in October, the aim is to achieve the transition of air traffic control in Angola from a procedural to a surveillance system that will allow Angola's air navigation service provider ENNA (Empresa Nacional de Navegação Aérea de la República de Angola) to make a safe and efficient transition to manage its flights in harmony with neighbouring countries.

This programme includes several aspects such as the adaptation of airspace and air traffic control operating procedures, the training of air traffic controllers and technical staff, and in the definition and training of AIS (air information systems) in accordance with this renovation. For the development of the complete programme, it is foreseen that the Angolan team of professionals will carry out part of their training at SENASA's facilities in Madrid, and SENASA's advisors and instructors will travel on site to the premises of the Angolan aeronautical authority.

SENASA has extensive national and international experience in training and consultancy. This agreement is an addition to SENASA's international presence in countries such as Cape Verde, Ghana, Mozambique and Georgia, which have already entrusted SENASA with their training and consultancy support programmes due to the growing interest in safety and training of their professionals.
