FUNDAMENTALS OF ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION IN AVIATION

This course provides fundamentals to carry out air accidents or incidents technical investigations. A case study will be analysed at the end of the course. ICAO annex 13, ICAO annex 19, ICAO Document 9756 as well as European and Spanish regulations.

Course objective:

  • It covers the applicable international aviation regulation (ICAO). Other regulatory references will be provided
  • The different aspects of the investigation process are addressed: from the preparation of an investigation to report writing
  • Special emphasis will be given to the systemic approach to accident investigation
  • Data and information collection processes as well as analysis of causes and contributing factors will also be studied.

Addressed to:

  • Professionals with aviation background (pilots, ATCOs, safety personnel) but limited investigation experience

Technical requirements virtual mode:

  • Cable connection preferably to avoid connection failures
  • MANDATORY webcam and headphones connected throughout the course (not use pc speaker to avoid coupling sound)
