TWR GMS ENDORSEMENT TRAINING

The Training process of GMS TWR Endorsement offered by SENASA is made up of two parts:

• GMS Endorsement Conference
• Aerodrome simulation with the assistance of GMS surface movement radar.

According to Commission Regulation (EU) 2015/340, the ground movement surveillance (GMS) endorsement operates as a complement to the ATC ground and tower control ratings and indicates that the holder of the license is able to provide control to ground movements with the assistance of ground movement surveillance airport systems.

• Air Traffic Controllers - or Student Controllers - with ADI/ADV ratings without the GMS endorsement.
• Students who have passed the ATC Tower Initial Training Course (ADI/ADV ratings) and have not been trained on the GMS endorsement

All SENASA ATC Initial Training courses starting in 2018 will include the GMS Endorsement to comply with the selection proces requirements in the last Enaire Air Traffic Controller call.

• Use surface movement radar.
• Operate surface movement guidance and control systems.
• Manage aerodrome surface movements with the aid of surface movement radar.
• Procedures for abnormal and emergency situations with the aid of surface movement radar.

Commission Regulation (EU) 2015/340 of 20 February 2015 laying down technical requirements and administrative procedures relating to air traffic controllers' licences and certificates.

• Duration: 4 days. One day for GMS Conference Endorsement and 3 days for GMS aerodrome simulation.
