THEORETICAL/PRACTICAL TRAINING OF SUBCATEGORY A2 FOR UAS PILOTS

Course objectives

This course aims to acquire the necessary theoretical knowledge that will allow you to pilot UAS in A2 operational scenarios ('open' category, subcategory A2) to be able to successfully pass the official AESA (Spanish Aviation Safety Agency) exam and obtain, from this mode, the certificate that will allow you to operate within these scenarios throughout the Spanish and European territory.

It also includes the objective of providing the "self-practice" training required by European regulations so that the pilot, in addition to meeting this requirement, acquires the knowledge and requirements to be taken into account during any flight in this subcategory.

Consolidated European regulations background

  • Consolidated Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/947 that includes changes to the Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/639 and Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/746.
  • Consolidated Delegated Regulation (EU) 2019/945 that includes changes to Delegated Regulation (EU) 2020/1058.

Course contents

THEORETICAL E-LEARNING TRAINING (10 hours)

  • Meteorology:
    • Meteorological effect conditions on the aircraft flight.
    • Meteorological predictions.
  • UAS flight performance:
    • Typical operational envelope of a rotorcraft, a fixed-wing aircraft and a hybrid configuration aircraft.
    • Center of gravity (CG) and mass balance.
    • Payload assurance.
    • Batteries.
  • Technical and operational risk mitigation on land:
    • Low speed mode function.
    • Evaluation of the distance to people not participating in the operation.
    • Rule 1:1.

PRACTICAL TRAINING (5 hours)

  • Theoretical briefing of the flights (1 hour).
  • 4 hours of flight under the conditions of the A2 subcategory of the open category, including instruction in dual control and 10 takeoffs/landings.

Course details

Duraction: 15 hours.

Language: Spanish.

Price 300 € (VAT included).

Place of celebration: it will be taught in the facilities to be determined by SENASA. The student will be informed of the specific area where the practical part will be carried out at the time of confirmation of the course.

It is essential to complete the online theoretical training before doing the practical. You have 30 days from when you pay for the course and receive the keys to access the online platform.
