PREPARATION OF THE UAS OPERATOR DOCUMENTATION SPECIFIC CATEGORY IN THE AUTHORIZATION REGIME

Course objective

The objective of the course is for the student to be able to classify the type of operation within the specific category (STS/PDRA/Authorization/LUC), and to know the necessary requirements to obtain an operational authorization within the framework of the Regulation (EU) 2019/947 of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), and develop the associated documentation. The student will become familiar, among others, with risk assessments for the operation through the SORA (Specific Operations Risk Assessment) methodology, applicable to those aircraft that operate in a specific category, Operations Manual, maintenance program, etc.

Practical cases will be presented that reflect the different aspects of the documentation necessary to present in the operational authorization process.

  • Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2019/945, of March 12, 2019, on unmanned aircraft systems and third-country operators of unmanned aircraft systems.
  • Execution Regulation (EU) 2019/947 of the Commission, of May 24, 2019, regarding the rules and procedures applicable to the use of unmanned aircraft.
