INTRODUCTION TO THE USE OF AGRICULTURAL DRONES

Course objective

Carry out a theoretical-practical approach to the use of agricultural drones, both for basic use (RGB), multispectral and applicators, according to the requirements of the new European regulations in controlled aerial environments.

Application regulations

Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/947 of 24 May 2019 on rules and procedures applicable to the use of unmanned aircraft.
Guidance material related to the training of remote pilots in the 'Specific' category under the AESA authorization regime (v.1-09/09/2021).
JARUS-FCL RECOMMENDATION (JAR_DEL_WG1_D0.4) (Reference regulations).

Course program

THEORETICAL TRAINING

  • Introduction:
    • New European regulatory framework.
    • EU implementing regulations 2019/945 and 2019/947.
    • Categories of operations: Open, Specific and Certified.
    • Operation criteria according to security scenarios.
  • Type of equipment for agricultural uses:
    • RGB camera equipment and uses.
    • Multispectral equipment, data and processing.
    • Applicator equipment, pouring of liquids and solids.
    • Practical use of equipment, operation area (Enaire drones).
  • Application regulations and operational approvals in AESA:
    • ConOps concept.
    • Types of operation in Specific Category.
    • Standard Scenarios, PDRA, SORA.
    • Operation manuals.
    • Required training.

FLIGHT TRAINING

  • A demonstration flight session with practices of different drone models lasting 4 hours, including flight of RGB equipment, different categories, multispectral equipment and equipment for crop treatment (fumigator drone).

Course details

  • Duration:
    • Theoretical part: 4 hours in person (1 day in the afternoon).
    • Practical part: 4 hours in person.
  • Venue: the theory would be taught in person at SENASA Salamanca Matacán and the practices would be taught in person at the flight field assigned for the operation, in the province of Salamanca.
  • Price: 200 euros (includes theoretical training + practical training and the aircraft to carry out the course).
  • Language: Spanish.
  • Limited places: minimum 5 students. Practice groups: maximum 10 students/day.

Cancellation policy

To cancel your attendance, please send an email to aeronautical.training@senasa.es, at least 7 days before the beginning of the course. This will allow you to receive a reimbursement of 90% of the price of the course (the remaining 10% will be considered as management costs).

In the case that cancellation is not communicated, or if it is done within a less-than-6 days period before the beginning of the course, no reimbursement shall be made to the student.

If you are unable to attend the course, as an alternative to cancellation you have the option of having someone else replacing you in your course registration. To do this, you must communicate their data by email letting us know the change at least 24 hours prior to the start date of the course. In this case, no amount will be refunded.

In case of cancellation due to force majeure accredited (death, accident, serious illness or hospitalization, in all of these cases, in his own person or to the second degree of consanguinity or affinity), the student shall be entitled to reimbursement.

In case that the minimum number of students is not reached, SENASA holds the right to cancel the course, and will make full reimbursement of the price already paid by the students.
